xoxo, Palm Beach

Ahhh!

My first ever collaboration came in the mail this week. I am so stoked, and feeling like a “real” blogger.

The sweet woman behind “xoxo, Palm Beach” sent me a complimentary box to try and out, and I have to say, I love it. It added the perfect bit of sunshine to my very gloomy week.

As a Lilly Pulitzer lover, I adore all things Lilly & Lilly inspired of course. This set was so cute & preppy! I’m obsessed.

rosy vox box from Influenster!

Hey y’all!

A few weeks ago I signed up for my very first box from influenster, the rosy vox box. This was the perfect first box, because it included a lot of items I use everyday. Of course, I was stoked to try them out. The best part is, you get all of it complimentary in exchange for reviews. Pretty sweet right?

what I wish I knew two months before my high school graduation

Wow here is a totally original blog post that has never ever been done before. I guess I’ll be the first to do it. (Obviously joking.. if you didn’t pick up on that, this might not be for you)

At the beginning of my senior year I was deadset on attending the small liberal arts college my sister attended. It’s an amazing school, and I couldn’t wait till next fall. However, God had another greater plan and March 2016 I was preparing to move 3 hours away from home and attend the biggest university in the state of Tennessee. I was terrified. I was thrilled.

It’s now a year later. I love my school so much, and I could never ever imagine living in my hometown again. With that being said, I have some things I’ve learned in the last 365 days that I’d love to share.

February Favorites

Y’all. I’ve had this blog for over a year and I’ve never done a favorites post!!! Decided this would be the perfect month to start. Sharing everything I’ve been loving in February!!!

First things first, my two favorite drinks this month have been a diet Vanilla Coke from sonic & a white chocolate mocha from Starbucks.

My favorite snack this month has been these buffalo flavored pretzel crisps! This family I used to babysit for in high school always had these in the pantry, but I never tried them. I wish I had, because I’ve been missing out! So yummy, as you can tell from this mostly empty bag.

cold & rainy & affordable

It has been a cold yucky rainy week on campus! So cold and rainy I have spent the entire week looking at Hunter Boots online 😳

I decided to style my rainy day look with black glitter rain boots from Payless, Lauren Conrad from kohls leggings, and this turtleneck sweater from… Walmart. Gasp.

Boho wall yarn art diy

Anyone else always searching for affordable art to go on your walls? I know I am! I came across this on Pinterest the other day from an etsy shop. It was $80+ shipping! That is not affordable on my college student budget. It looked simple enough, so I thought I’d give it a try. It only cost me $10! I really dig it, and if you do too here’s how I made it!
What you need

  1. 2 rolls of yarn I bought this brand from JoAnn Craft Stores. You need 2 if you make a bigger one like I did. You can mix colors but I chose a solid.
  2. A wooden dowel Again, I chose this one from JoAnn. I read some reviews saying they weren’t crazy about it but I really liked it!

So here’s what you need to do!

  1. Measure the length you want it to be, then double it
  2. Do this five times with the same length, then bundle them together with the ends matching up
  3. Make a little slip knot on the dowel like this
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 until the rod is as full as you like.
  5. Cut a shape. Or don’t! I cut mine in the shape of a V but I’ve seen it done shortest to longest and really liked that as well. This is where you get to be creative!
  6. Use yarn to hang
  7. Ta-Da! Enjoy your easy cheap art!

Bundled up

Cold Sunday mornings mean I am not wearing a dress to church 🙅 instead, I’ll be wearing leggings, a long sleeve top, a big jacket, and a scarf. Ya girls not trying to freeze!

Snow YAY

Here in East Tennessee snow is something we flip over. We head to the store, buy every ingredient for chili, milk, bread.. we are not going to get hungry when we can’t make it to the store in our little blizzards 😉

We know we’re ridiculous, it’s just the way we’re raised in the south. We go sledding in an inch of snow, and head up to gatlinburg every chance we get to play in the man made snow at Ober. It’s in our blood. You love it or you hate it, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

last minute gift ideas

So many of us procrastinate these days. It’s just what we do. We procrastinate studying, getting ready for work, cleaning the house. If there’s something to procrastinate, we do it! Guilty as charged.

But one of the most stressful things to procrastinate is gift giving. Seems like a simple task, but we do it anyways. Need a last minute gift idea? Well I have a few to keep you covered.

  1. Life is Good accessories life is good is the perfect gift for anyone in your life male or female! Comfy cozy apparel, and great little accessories. I ordered these goodies from lifeisgood.com, but most outdoor stores sell the same things. A neutral colored baseball cap is good for anyone on the go!
  2. Ban.do tumbler and bagsban.do is such a great company for gifting to your gal pals, sisters, or mom. They have such cute and quirky things for everyone on the list. I picked up this tumbler and these toiletry bags to give to one of my bffs in secret Santa. Again, I ordered this from bando.com, but they’re becoming very popular in boutiques & even hallmark stores!
  3. Bourbon and bowties banglesbourbon and bowties are my all time fav accessory. And I actually have been gifted all 3 of these! The pineapple and pearls from my sister, (thanks riah!) and the mtsu true blue from my sweetie boyfriend. These are so good for any lady on your list, and are the best stocking stuffers! These are another common boutique gift, but macys and Nordstrom carry them too!
  4. A devotional a devotional is a great gift for the spiritual person in your life. While this specific one is targeted towards women, there are plenty of great men’s devotionals too! Check amazon, Barnes and noble, or your local Christian bookstore for a great one.

So there’s some proof there actually are some good gifts still left! But hurry, only 3 days till Christmas! It’s practically here!

an October summer look

It is October 18th, or so they say. It’s hard to believe them when it actually feels like hell outside and the thermostat reads 90°. Nevertheless, I’m determined to dress for my favorite season. Fall, just know how much I love you.

Today I wore a t shirt dress that has already been featured on here many times. As Lizzie McGuire once said, “I may be an outfit repeater, but you’re an outfit rememberer which is just as pathetic.” I have to agree.
