Swing low

Happy spring y’all!

I’ve been loving swing dresses. I got this one on sale at old navy. It’s still a little chilly so I paired it with booties and my brown fringe purse. Swing dresses are so fun and easy and cute. I’m obsessed.

Buying a tan from the drugstore

Ever heard of how bad UV rays are on your skin? Yep, me too! They’re awful. But I feel so much more confident with a tan. What’s a girl to do?

I bought a bottle of Jergen’s Natural Glow Medium to Tan lotion and I am loving it! It’s pretty gradual,  but I like that because it’s harder to get streaky, which no one wants. It’s under $5 a bottle so it’s extremely affordable compared to a beauty store’s self tanner.

I, personally, apply this to my chest, arms, legs, and belly before bed right after I’ve taken a shower and shaven and exfoliated my body!

You want to make sure that you’ve shaved your legs (if you do shave), otherwise it can dye your leg hair darker. Exfoliating also helps to remove the dry skin and makes the lotion go on  smoother.

Florals for spring. Groundbreaking

Hey y’all!

I made my poor boyfriend take pictures of me this morning. He might say he didn’t absolutely love it, but we all know that’s a lie. Haha.

I’m doing a combination of a few pieces with no overlapping stores! Usually my entire outfit is from target, but actually I’m wearing nothing from target today. That’s wild for me y’all.

Grandma Chic & Incomplete

As a college blogger, I’m often getting asked about my dorm room and college essentials. Honestly the essentials are a whole different post (coming soon!), but today I’m gonna share about my “dorm room.”

Because I go to the same university as my brother, my parents figured it would be easier to get us our own shared place instead of paying room & board or rent for two people individually. Honestly, it’s really worked out. My brother is my best friend and our fights rarely amount to everything.. however, I don’t have a dorm! So instead of giving a dorm tour I’m giving y’all a townhouse tour.

xoxo, Palm Beach

Ahhh!

My first ever collaboration came in the mail this week. I am so stoked, and feeling like a “real” blogger.

The sweet woman behind “xoxo, Palm Beach” sent me a complimentary box to try and out, and I have to say, I love it. It added the perfect bit of sunshine to my very gloomy week.

As a Lilly Pulitzer lover, I adore all things Lilly & Lilly inspired of course. This set was so cute & preppy! I’m obsessed.

rosy vox box from Influenster!

Hey y’all!

A few weeks ago I signed up for my very first box from influenster, the rosy vox box. This was the perfect first box, because it included a lot of items I use everyday. Of course, I was stoked to try them out. The best part is, you get all of it complimentary in exchange for reviews. Pretty sweet right?

what I wish I knew two months before my high school graduation

Wow here is a totally original blog post that has never ever been done before. I guess I’ll be the first to do it. (Obviously joking.. if you didn’t pick up on that, this might not be for you)

At the beginning of my senior year I was deadset on attending the small liberal arts college my sister attended. It’s an amazing school, and I couldn’t wait till next fall. However, God had another greater plan and March 2016 I was preparing to move 3 hours away from home and attend the biggest university in the state of Tennessee. I was terrified. I was thrilled.

It’s now a year later. I love my school so much, and I could never ever imagine living in my hometown again. With that being said, I have some things I’ve learned in the last 365 days that I’d love to share.

February Favorites

Y’all. I’ve had this blog for over a year and I’ve never done a favorites post!!! Decided this would be the perfect month to start. Sharing everything I’ve been loving in February!!!

First things first, my two favorite drinks this month have been a diet Vanilla Coke from sonic & a white chocolate mocha from Starbucks.

My favorite snack this month has been these buffalo flavored pretzel crisps! This family I used to babysit for in high school always had these in the pantry, but I never tried them. I wish I had, because I’ve been missing out! So yummy, as you can tell from this mostly empty bag.

cold & rainy & affordable

It has been a cold yucky rainy week on campus! So cold and rainy I have spent the entire week looking at Hunter Boots online 😳

I decided to style my rainy day look with black glitter rain boots from Payless, Lauren Conrad from kohls leggings, and this turtleneck sweater from… Walmart. Gasp.

Boho wall yarn art diy

Anyone else always searching for affordable art to go on your walls? I know I am! I came across this on Pinterest the other day from an etsy shop. It was $80+ shipping! That is not affordable on my college student budget. It looked simple enough, so I thought I’d give it a try. It only cost me $10! I really dig it, and if you do too here’s how I made it!
What you need

  1. 2 rolls of yarn I bought this brand from JoAnn Craft Stores. You need 2 if you make a bigger one like I did. You can mix colors but I chose a solid.
  2. A wooden dowel Again, I chose this one from JoAnn. I read some reviews saying they weren’t crazy about it but I really liked it!

So here’s what you need to do!

  1. Measure the length you want it to be, then double it
  2. Do this five times with the same length, then bundle them together with the ends matching up
  3. Make a little slip knot on the dowel like this
  4. Repeat steps 1-3 until the rod is as full as you like.
  5. Cut a shape. Or don’t! I cut mine in the shape of a V but I’ve seen it done shortest to longest and really liked that as well. This is where you get to be creative!
  6. Use yarn to hang
  7. Ta-Da! Enjoy your easy cheap art!
