Self-Care for Valentine’s Day

The most important person to show love to on Valentine’s Day is you!I love Valentine’s Day.  I don’t care to admit it. Pink is my favorite color, chocolate is my favorite candy, and seeing so many ladies getting well-deserved flowers makes my heart smile… But I know Valentine’s Day is a burden on so many hearts. Maybe you’re single this year, your valentine is hundreds of miles away, or you’re just getting out of a long-term relationship. I’ve been there, I am there, I get it. It sucks, but don’t let it ruin a perfectly good day!  Here are some tips to show yourself some    l o v e    this Valentine’s Day!

1. Make a Playlist of Your Favorite Love Songs

orrr your favorite break-up songs, if it helps! I’m a sucker for a good love song.  “Danny’s Song” x Loggins & Messina, “Amazed” x Lonestar, and “Always on my Mind” x Loretta Lynn are on my list.

2. Do a Face Mask

I don’t do face masks often, so when I do one I always feel super glamorous.  It is such a nice little treat yourself!

3. Paint Your Nails

I love painting my nails, taking that extra time on myself always feels nice. It is also nice to look down and see your pretty creation for a week or two.

4. Watch Your Favorite Happy Show or Movie

My favorite show that always boosts my mood is Friends.  I’ve probably seen every episode 5x, but it makes me happier than anything else. If I have time to watch a movie, I absolutely love Sweet Home Alabama.

5. Drink Lemon Water

If you didn’t already know this, water is good for you! Adding lemon, or some berries is such a nice treat!

6. Cook Your Favorite Dinner/Order Takeout

I rarely make my favorite meal, but that only makes it more special. Indulge a little! You deserve it.

7. Buy New Pajamas

OR wear your favorites! I’m a big fan of matching pajamas, I don’t care what anyone says.

8. Give Yourself a Foot Massage

Use your favorite lotion, rub your feet, and put on your favorite fuzzy socks!

9. Text Your Besties

When I haven’t seen my best friends in a while, it’s always nice to check in on them. Maybe Valentine’s Day is going to be hard for them this year too! Send them a valentine text, and brighten their night too.

Happy Valentine’s Day, beautiful! Don’t forget to take time for yourself, and love you first!
