Haven’t read day one yet? Click here!
On our second day in New York, we woke up early and got ready to spend the morning in Central Park. Totally on accident, we stumbled across the fountain Blair and Serena have their photoshoot at in season 1 episode 4 of Gossip Girl. I totally fangirled. & I made my boyfriend do this.
He is such a good sport. It is also across the street from Tiffany & Co on Fifth Avenue, which is the Tiffany’s from Breakfast at Tiffany’s! We went across the street and took a few photos outside. I had big plans on going in, but they actually didn’t open for a few more hours. My wallet wasn’t mad about it.
“Moon River” plays softly in the background.
Anyways, after this it was time to walk through Central Park! We took a long (emphasis on long) walk to Belvedere Castle. It has an amazing view of Central Park and a bit of New York. It is a super cool place.
We also went to the Bow Bridge which is beautiful and precious in every way.
We then walked over to the Shake Shack on Columbus Avenue. This was my first time going to a Shake Shack and to be honest I wasn’t impressed. It could be partially because my burger wasn’t cooked fully the first time. However, my boyfriend continuously referred to it as Wendy’s. It just wasn’t our favorite!
After this we took an Open Top bus tour, which I really enjoyed. They had a few different locations of New York for the tours, and stops throughout the tour in case something seemed interesting and you wanted to get off! Ours went throughout Manhattan and then we hopped onto another one taking us to Brooklyn. We got off there and walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, which was really cool!
After our walk across the bridge, we walked over to the 9/11 Memorial. It was really beautiful and emotional to see it. It definitely puts things into perspective. The rose is actually on a name in the memorial, and it symbolizes their birthday.
It was truly beautiful.
Afterwards, we decided to grab dinner before heading back to the apartment in SoHo. We ate at a mexican restaurant called El Vez. I ate chicken tacos and salsa and it was delicious. We also saw a youtuber named Casey Neistat while we were eating stroll by the window. That was pretty cool.
After we ate, we were pretty exhausted and went back to our apartment. We watched the Preds game and fell asleep pretty soon after. This was definitely in the running for my favorite day of the trip, but I was super exhausted by the time I laid down. New York does that to you!
