If you’ve been following my blog for a while you know about my sweet boyfriend, Jon. Jon lives in our hometown, and during the school year I live three hours away. Unfortunately, this means we date long distance a little less than 2/3 of the year. Knowing we’d get to be in the same town this entire summer, we decided to make a summer bucket list to make the most of our time together. This silly little list was easily one of the best decisions we’ve made in our relationship. This summer has literally been a dream, so I’ve decided to share our awesome dates with you!
Wondering what all is on the list?
- See our favorite comedian (John Mulaney)
- Go to a minor league baseball game
- Play Tony Hawk video games on a PS2.
- Watch live-action The Jungle Book (our first date movie)
- Have brunch at Aretha Frankenstien’s
- Visit the Hunter Art Museum
- See sunflowers
- Swim
- Visit our favorite park
- Ride Go-Karts
- Play Mini Golf
- Bake together
- Play ping pong
- Go to the farmer’s market
- See an outdoor movie
- Watch La La Land again
- Go to NYC.
There is one more month before I go back to school, and we only have four things left on the list!
Our first date was on June 12th, 2016. For our one year anniversary we had dinner at Chili’s (where we ate on our first date), and went back to Jon’s to watch The Jungle Book. It was so fun to see that movie again, and to look back on how much our relationship has changed in a year.
Because Jon is impossible to shop for, instead of giving him a gift for our anniversary, I took him on a surprise date to Chattanooga. Chattanooga is his favorite city, and it is only a little over an hour from our hometown. I took him to Aretha Frankenstein’s first where we had the yummiest brunch ever… and believe me, we’ve had a lot of brunch. Then, we went over to The Hunter Museum of Art. Jon then spent some time showing me around Chattanooga, which was so fun! We I eventually thought we I would die of heat exhaustion.
Meeting our bucket list goal to swim was super easy once we finally stopped getting hit with that East TN rain, and you already have heard all about our trip to NYC in blog posts here, here, here, here!
That leaves us getting through four of our goals in the first two weeks of June. We were on a role! Which ended up getting a major slow down due to rain & car troubles… But more on that next Saturday. 😉
